Transcom Group chairman Latifur Rahman is one of the best taxpayers of Dhaka City
• In the journalist category, the first light and the Daily Star editor received the third tax card
• Last year, three organizations of Transcom received tax card
Transcom Group chairman Latifur Rahman has received one of the best taxpayers in Dhaka City Corporation area. The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has been honored. Last year, the NBR had given recognition to Latifur Rahman and his family as 'Kar Bahadur family' for paying long time to the NBR.
Aristad Waliur Rahman, director of Transcom Group, and his son, took the crest for the honor on behalf of renowned businessman Latifur Rahman on Monday night at the Sonargaon Hotel. Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhit was the chief guest at the program.
Now all four organizations related to Transcom Group have received tax card. As the best taxpayer, three organizations of four organizations, found in the 'print and electronic media' category, are associated with Transcom Group. The organizations are Media World Limited, Midiastar Limited and Transcript Limited. Advocate Rokiya Afzal Rahman, the adviser to the organization's chairperson and former caretaker government, took the card and award crest for Media World. In addition, the first light editor Matiur Rahman for the media advisor and Kamrul Hassan, executive director (finance), for the transcript, Kamrul Hasan took the card and award crest. Last year these three organizations got the tax card. East-West Media Limited received more honors in this category.
Among the top three companies in the food and related category, Transcom Group's organization Transcom Beverages Limited Tax card and crest were handed over to the organization by the Director of Transcom Group Atiqur Rahman.
Apart from this, the journalist is the best taxpayer in the journalist category, English daily The Daily Star Editor Mahfuz Anam, from Media World Limited The tax card was issued to five journalists who paid the highest tax. Among them, Bengali daily Prothom Alo editor Motiur Rahman published from Mediastar Limited Limited Taxes and crests were handed out yesterday by the two editors. Mahfuz Anam and Matiur Rahman have been receiving the best tax payers for three years.
Besides, the Daily Ajadi editor of Chittagong's Mohammad Abdul Malek, the channel's director (message) Sheikh Siraj and Bangladesh daily editor Naim Nizam have been the best taxpayers in the journalist category. Besides, Ekushey Television's Chief Editor and Chief Executive Officer Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul was given special awards this year.
