Tripartite workshops to implement decoration in tea industry


A tri-partial workshop was organized in Srimangal of Moulvibazar to implement the beautification of Bangladesh Tea-Industrial sector.

The workshop was organized jointly organized by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and Indigenous People's Development Services (IPDS) in the Hall of Grand Sultan T. Resort and Golf on Tuesday.

ILD Country Director Toumo Pachyenen, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, Shakuni Nahar Begum, Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Tofail Islam, Finolete CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Tahsin Ahmed Chowdhury, Bangladesh Tea Workers Union President Makhan Lal Worker Before presenting the presentations, the Secretary General of Bangladesh Tea Workers Union Ramesh Kairy and National Co-ordinator of ILO Alexisius Chicham. Tea-workers leaders from different tea gardens of Bangladesh participated in this time.
Tea-workers representatives in the workshop said, 'Tea-workers from all over India were brought to this country, by showing greed for good. They were told that they will be able to live happily in the green grasslands. But the tea-workers have survived after years of exploitation and deprivation. They are not getting the full demand. They are being deprived of the necessary facilities despite hard work to increase tea production.

The representatives of the garden owners said that a family of tea-workers and gardeners. Tea-industry prevails in all efforts of this family. The garden authorities are working to meet the demands of tea-workers.
Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Tofail Islam said, the government is the owner of the tea garden. The gardeners have gardens with government leases for a specific period. There are many conditions provided during the lease. If the condition is broken, the lease is canceled. He said, 'There is a Bangla liquor garment (shops) for the workers in the tea garden (licensed). If the tea-workers think that this alcohol is harming them, then we will make arrangements for the payment of alcohol pats by complaining to us.

The chief guest of the workshop said Secretary of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts. Nurul Amin said that the present government does not want anyone to be lagging behind. The government is working for the development of all minor ethnic groups. Thinking about their children's education in their own language. Similarly, the government is working for the development of tea-workers. The government is making government primary schools in every tea garden. The construction of the school is in the areas where there is no school in the school.
